Where to Invade Next filmmaker Michael Moore has offered to pay the fines of any Republican elector who locates a conscience and refuses to vote for the president-elect Monday. In a Facebook post shared Sunday night, Moore promised he would "personally step up" with the funds as doing so was his "legal right." The Electoral College, amid calls for electors to block the president-elect's path to 270, meets Monday.

"I know you HAVE to be full of worry and consternation over the way Russia hacked into our election in order to help Trump," Moore wrote Sunday. "Shouldn't we all wait until the investigation ordered by the president is finished before the Electoral College votes? If Trump did know or was involved in this unprecedented assault on our electoral process, wouldn't that be enough for you to exercise your constitutional power to stop a man like this from taking office?"

Trump also highlighted the president-elect's alleged decision to skip out on daily national security briefings, noting that such behavior should be a warning sign. "Do we want a Commander-in-Chief who is too busy or too disinterested to protect us on a daily basis?" Moore said. "Or how about the fact that Donald Trump bragged and admitted during the campaign that his people were in touch with the Russians? How much more do you need before you get a sick feeling about all of this?"

Moore has remained consistent in his opposition to the president-elect, breaking down the truly dire circumstances surrounding this moment in American history in a separate Facebook post last week. "To you, Mr. Trump, I say this," Moore said in his widely shared "Donald Trump Is Gonna Get Us Killed" essay. "When this next terrorist attack takes place, it is YOU who will be charged by the American people with a gross dereliction of duty. It was YOUR job to pay attention, to protect the country. But you were too busy tweeting and defending Putin and appointing cabinet members to dismantle the government."
