The 1974 cult classic film Foxy Brown is getting a TV reboot, starring Meagan Good as the iconic title character.

According to an exclusive Deadline report, Good will also produce the upcoming Hulu series alongside her husband, DeVon Franklin, and Tony Krantz. Empire executive producer Malcolm Spellman and Hand of God creator Ben Watkins have signed on as writers.

The TV adaptation has been billed as “modern reimagining” of the 1974 blaxploitation film, which was directed by Jack Hill. Actress Pam Grier played the original Foxy Brown, who infiltrates a mob of drug dealers to avenge her government agent boyfriend’s death. The film was praised for its depiction of a strong and fearless black woman, but was also criticized for perpetuating black stereotypes.

The 35-year-old actress isn't new to the small screen. She has had recurring and starring roles in series such as Fox's Minority Report, NBC's Deception, and CBS' Code Black. She will also star in the upcoming Lifetime movie The 10th Date, set to air Jan. 28, 2017.

A premiere date for Hulu's Foxy Brown has yet to be announced.
