Bill Murray Joins President Obama in the Oval Office to Play Golf and Talk Health Insurance

Bill Murray and President Obama golf it up while discussing the Affordable Care Act.

In just three short days, this year's open enrollment period for those looking to get Affordable Care Act health coverage closes. To inspire everyone to get on their shit so they can ensure coverage for 2017, Bill Murray waltzed into the White House to challenge President Barack Obama to a round of golf while chatting up the benefits of getting enrolled.

"Generally, I don't let Cubs fans into the Oval Office," Obama joked as Murray lined up a putt. But Murray had a comeback on deck, tying the Cubs' big 2016 to Obama’s high approval ratings. "It's probably not a coincidence that your popularity is at an all time high," Murray explained. "So I would just stick with this if I were you."

Cubs jokes aside, Murray and Obama had some truly serious shit to discuss: getting covered. As Obama said in Saturday's weekly address, now is the time to make sure you're all set on the health insurance marketplace. "It's the most wonderful time of the year, and not just because it's the holiday season," Obama said. "It's also open enrollment season over at HealthCare.gov."

The Murray x Obama clip is especially poignant now, as GOP leaders have repeatedly threatened to immediately repeal the Affordable Care Act when the new administration takes office. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities estimates that 29.8 million people would lose their health insurance in the event of a repeal.
