Forget about Darth Vader for a minute. Get him out of your head. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will seemingly feature the return of another notable bad dude, the one and only Grand Moff Tarkin. Tarkin, a ruthlessly militaristic individual, was originally portrayed by the late Peter Cushing before Wayne Pygram picked up the role in Revenge of the Sith. Though it's not clear who exactly will be given the honor in Rogue One, the latest 30-second teaser clearly shows Tarkin taking a loving glance at the Death Star:

Has director Gareth Edwards gone the CGI route, recreating the original Grand Moff vibes for a mere cameo? No clue. But Star Wars fans are definitely down for whatever Edwards has cooked up, as evidenced by the fact that advance ticket sales damn near crashed Fandango early Monday:

"'Rogue One' is a military call sign to some extent," Edwards toldEmpire back in August, referencing the Red Squadron, "but this is the first film that's gone off-piste and is not part of the saga—or the Anakin story—so it's the 'rogue' one, you know?"

The first standalone film in the Star Wars universe stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, and Forest Whitaker. As the advance midnight ticket you hopefully copped has already informed you, the movie hits theaters Dec. 16.
