After Donald Trump won the presidential election, Hillary Clinton said in her concession speech, "We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead." But if you ask Seth Meyers, Trump has already blown his chance—especially since his new Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor is Steve Bannon, an anti-Semitic, misogynistic, Islamophobic white nationalist who ran the inflammatory right-wing website Breitbart, which even Bannon describes as "the platform for the alt-right."

On Tuesday night, Seth Meyers took "a closer look" at president-elect Donald Trump's first moves since the election. He showed clips of various figures in the media urging people to give Trump "a fresh start," and then Meyers went off on them for normalizing Trump: "Many in the media are doing everything they can to delude themselves and the nation into thinking that this is a normal situation—that Trump’s behavior and campaign promises don’t pose a unique threat to American principles and norms." While they "talk about giving him a fresh start like he was on a diet and ate a cupcake," Meyers slammed the media for "trying to pretend that Trump’s incoming presidency isn’t a threat to our institutions." The show then cut to a news clips announcing Trump's appointment of Bannon. When the clips wrapped up, Seth Meyers joked while waving, "Well, we gave him a chance. Bye chance! Thanks for stopping by! Good to see you, chance!"

Meyers continued, "And just to give you a sense of how extreme Breitbart is, the website recently accused President Obama of importing more hating Muslims, compared Planned Parenthood’s work to the holocaust, called Bill Kristol, the conservative commentator, 'a renegade Jew,' and advised female victims of online harassment to just log off and stop screwing up the Internet for men." He quipped, "How are women screwing up the Internet for men? 'I’m trying to watch my pornography, but they keep showing me recipes.'"

He noted that people of all political beliefs have slammed Bannon. "You know the world has gone insane when Glenn Beck and Bernie Sanders are on the same page," Meyers joked.

Meyers also joked about anti-Trump protest signs, Rudy Giuliani, and Clinton winning the popular vote while still losing the election. You can watch the full clip above.
