Following her recent controversial condemnation of pornography, Pamela Anderson is stepping up to warn users of the potential dangers of on-demand rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft. In a new PSA designed as a dating show parody, Anderson makes a push for such apps to adopt stricter background check policies for its drivers to help curb alleged instances of sexual assault.

The skit sees Anderson choosing between three potential drivers, including two dudes who haven't even been submitted to a drug or background test. "Your safety is my top priority," Anderson's third (and presumably safer) option promises in the clip. "I've been screened, licensed, and trained." Anderson ultimately selects this option, telling viewers to urge their favorite apps to properly screen potential drivers. "You can't always vet the driver you're using, but the service you're using should," Anderson says. "Be safe. Think before you app."

Though TMZnoted in its premiere of Anderson's PSA that there are "few hard stats" on sexual assault incidents linked to rideshare drivers, some cities have already started taking action. Austin, for example, has reportedly banned both Uber and Lyft for refusing to submit their drivers for fingerprint collection. Representatives for both apps have insisted that background checks are required for all drivers.

Back in September, Anderson co-penned an essay for the Wall Street Journal alongside rabbi-counselor Shmuley Boteach insisting only "losers" engage in pornography viewing. "Put another way, we are a guinea-pig generation for an experiment in mass debasement that few of us would have ever consented to, and whose full nefarious impact may not be known for years," Anderson wrote. The essay also speculated that we will soon see the rise of a generation full of "the crack babies of porn."
