Sorry, Marvel fans. It doesn’t look like The Inhumans movie will happen anytime soon; however, we will see the gang of super humans on the small screen sometime next year.

That’s right, ABC has just given the green light to a Marvel's The Inhumans TV show set to premiere on the network in fall of 2017. According to a press release, the live-action series will be produced by Marvel Television—in conjunction with ABC Studios—and filmed entirely with IMAX cameras. As a part of the agreement, Marvel announced it will screen the first two episodes of the show exclusively at IMAX theaters for two weeks in September 2017.

“This unprecedented alliance represents a bold, innovative approach to launching great TV content for a worldwide audience,” said Ben Sherwood, co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney/ABC Television Group. “It highlights Disney|ABC’s unrelenting commitment to finding new and creative ways to showcasing our very best programming and increasing global engagement and reach.”

The Inhumans will be based on the Marvel comic book series about a race of super-powered humans. It will reportedly explore never-before-told stories about Black Bolt and the iconic characters in the royal family.

Back in 2014, there were rumors that Marvel was developing an Inhumans live action film. The rumors were later confirmed after the project was added to a list of Disney movies slated for a 2019 release. It seemed like it was actually going to happen…until it was taken off the list completely.

At least we have the TV show to look forward to. As of today, there is no information regarding writers or the cast. Stay tuned as more information comes in.
