Leonardo DiCaprio, last seen running with the Pussy Posse, will soon be back to standing in front of a camera. This time, he'll be starring in a biopic about legendary music producer Sam Phillips. This is the second recently announced project DiCaprio will not only star in but will produce, joining a recently-announced film about the Jim Crow south.

Deadlinereported that DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way is working with Paramount Pictures, which got the rights to music writer Peter Guralnick's book Sam Phillips: The Man Who Invented Rock ‘N’ Roll. Phillips is known for founding Memphis’ Sun Studios and working with artists like Elvis Presley, Ike Turner, Howlin' Wolf, and Johnny Cash.

Paramount Pictures is reportedly collaborating with Appian Way for the a film based on Beth Macy’s book Truevine: Two Brothers, A Kidnapping, And A Mother’s Quest; A True Story Of The Jim Crow South, for which Paramount has acquired the rights. DiCaprio is said to be looking to star in that film as well. DiCaprio last appeared in 2015’s The Revenant, for which he won an Academy Award—but you knew that already.

Besides being an e-cigarette and model enthusiast, DiCaprio is an environmentalist (See: DiCaprio's climate change documentary), so of course Appian Way is producing a Captain Planet movie.

DiCaprio has already got a few biopics under his belt, including The Revenant and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Somehow in the middle of all this, the busy actor plans to squeeze in a trip to Mars.
