Just two months after teasing details of American Crime Story's Hurricane Katrina-themed second season, FX has renewed the hit Ryan Murphy series for another year. Additional details surrounding the third season, reportedly titled Versace/Cunanan and set to film simultaneously with Katrina, were unveiled by Deadline Tuesday.

Versace/Cunanan will take a close look at the 1997 assassination of designer Gianni Versace by serial Andrew Cunanan. Versace was fatally shot by Cunanan at his Miami home, the fifth victim in a killing spree. According to the New York Daily News, Cunanan later committed suicide.

The series will pull from Vanity Fair writer Maureen Orth's 1999 novel Vulgar Favors. Tom Rob Smith, known for his work on Child 44 and London Spy, will pen the first two episodes. Though the two will be filmed "virtually simultaneously," the Ryan Murphy-helmed premiere of Versace/Cunanan will still air after the (also Ryan Murphy-helmed) Katrina.

This year's American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson proved both a critical and commercial success, giving FX a highly braggable amount of Emmys and the distinction of having 2016's most-watched new show. Perhaps in an effort to just make all the rest of us look extremely lazy, Murphy has also managed to carve out time to hatch a totally secret season of that other tiny show of his: American HORROR Story.

"It's my secret season," Murphy toldEntertainment Weekly in September. "I've been working with a writer on a season that only he and I know. It's like a two-year project that we'll continue to work on on the sly and not tell anybody." Well, not tell anybody except all the people who will read what you just said.
