Other than the gripping storyline and various homages to the 80s and nerd culture, one of the things that made Netflix’s Stranger Things so great was its incredible musical score (tell us the intro doesn’t give you goosebumps every time you hear it). Following the success of the sci-fi/horror show, the soundtrack will be getting a release at the end of next month.
Pressed in a half-red-half-blue vinyl and including additional artwork, the Stranger Things Vol 1 LP will feature all the original music by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein. Fusing that rich 80s texture with pillowy synth-pads you really get a feel for the era that 'Stranger Things' is set in. With it’s unique composition you can really feel the influence of popular 80s soundtracks from various John Carpenter films mixed in with more modern sounds from the likes of Aphex Twin.
