The climactic second season of Narcos isn't even a week old yet, but that doesn't mean now isn't as good a time as any to announce a renewal. According to Netflix, "the blow must go on" following the historic events at the center of the most recent batch of Narcos. The streaming giant announced Tuesday that the cocaine saga has already been renewed for seasons 3 and 4, Deadlinereports.

Narcos stands as one of Netflix's most talked-about series, with season 2 (spoiler alert for those not in tune with history!) tackling the death of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. Though an exact premiere date hasn't been set, fans can expect more Narcos at some point in 2017.

"This show has always been about cocaine," Narcos executive producer Eric Newman, who will return for the just-announced new seasons, toldEntertainment Weekly last week. "We purposely did not call the show Pablo Escobar or Medellin. In the same way that Osama Bin Laden begets ISIS, Medellin begets Cali begets the Mexican Cartels. Though they existed at the same time, Cali really got the Mexicans into cocaine, which proved to be a much better business than heroin."

As hinted at during its second season, Narcos could easily pick up the cocaine madness at the rise of the Cali Cartel in the wake of Escobar's fall. Historically speaking, that would make perfect sense and satiate the show's fans, who are undoubtedly hungry for more episodic coke education. According toTIME, the Cali Cartel controlled a whopping 90 percent of the cocaine market at their peak.

Narcos returns in 2017.
