It’s no secret that Daniel Craig is done with the role of James Bond, he's gone as far to say that he'd "rather slash my wrists" than do another Bond film. Excessive as that statement may be Sony are desperate to keep him on, so desperate in fact that they’ve reportedly offered him $150 million to stay on.

The lucrative contract is good for two more Bond films, coincidentally back in May he turned down nearly $100 million to return to the role. According to Radar it seems that Craig is playing a smart game here—a "genius hand" if you will—and Sony are hoping that the new offer will tempt him to stay on just a little bit longer.

According to a source at Radar:

"The studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor.

In the meantime it’s been rumoured that Sony have already drawn up a list of potential replacements should Daniel Craig rebuff the new offer. Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba are among the favourites to take on the role of 007.
