Kris Jenner just wanted to promote her Signature Collection Elegance Pearl Necklace, a new $175 "limited edition" entry in her jewelry line. So she took to Twitter on Tuesday to do just that.

My new 'Elegance' necklace is available now, exclusively online! https://t.co/FRcZp2VqjZ pic.twitter.com/2Da4vk51Tp

However, her attempt to sell the necklace, which many people had already noted looks like it is made out of paperclips, was met with mockery from an unexpected source. Staples Canada took an opportunity to poke fun at the necklace's office supply-like appearance.

The reaction from social media was instantaneous.

Jenner appeared unaffected by the response, and continued to promote the same necklace the following day.

kris i love you but you can't go around selling paperclips for 200$

But the reaction from the puzzled Twitterverse was similar.

is this a joke? Theyre fukin paper clips

Why are you wearing paper clips?

— Skulls 🦉 (@ItsSkullss) June 30, 2016

Jenner, for her part, claims that the clips are "sterling silver" and have a "diamond cut finish."
