Thanks to FX's must-see American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson and Ezra Edelman's top-shelf O.J.: Made in America docuseries, the 1994 trial of O.J. Simpson is once again the only thing anyone wants to talk about. And with developments like this, who can blame them? Chris Darden, a prosecutor in the most obsessed-over trial in American history, stopped by The View Thursday to speak on recent rumors of a possible confession from Simpson, who was acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1995.

"I think he confessed it," Darden said. "I think he confessed it during the trial, and I think he confessed it in the L.A. County Jail, but we weren't allowed access to the conversation or the content of the confession." In fact, Darden believes Simpson has "probably confessed it" on "a million" different occasions since 1994. Darden's comments come just weeks after Ron Shipp, a former cop and longtime friend of Simpson's, theorized to the New York Daily News that a murder confession could be coming soon:

"I hope one day he actually will rid us of all the doubt and all the conspiracy theories and say 'sorry I cannot go to prison (because of double jeopardy laws), but I am sorry I did it," says Shipp, who believes that will happen.

Darden added that prosecutors were told Simpson "confessed during the trial" to Rosey Grier, a former football star and Christian minister. Of course, thanks to their prominent display in FX's American Crime Story, Darden couldn't get through the View chat without having to talk about those gloves.

"This was my team, ultimately, in the end," Darden said. "I stood there with him. I let him put those gloves on. Why not? They're his gloves. There are pictures of him wearing those same gloves. His blood is in those gloves. The blood of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown are in those gloves. They're his gloves. The gloves fit him the same way they always did." Darden attributed the oft-quoted "you must acquit!" moment to Simpson's acting prowess. "Maybe I'm in denial," he said. "But when I look, the gloves fit."
