Shia LaBeouf has been going hard on the festival circuit lately. He made an appearance at New York's Tribeca Film Festival to promote the psychodrama documentary LoveTruewhich he executive produced and described as "very metamodern" in a poetic email exchange with Complex. Now he's at the Cannes Film Festival in France where he spoke as part of a press conference for the new arthouse film American Honey.

The film, according toThe Hollywood Reporter, has some pretty "raunchy" sex scenes between the rat-tailed LaBeouf and his co-star Sasha Lane. After all of LaBeouf's intense, CGI-enhanced sex scenes in Lars Von Trier's 2014 film Nymphomaniac, reporters were maybe looking for a trend when they asked LaBeouf about the abundance of sexy time in his recent roles.

"I don't think I get hired for sex scenes," LaBeouf told them (understandably).

Well, maybe not for sex scenes, but perhaps for his sexy dance moves? Variety writes that LaBeouf works it during a scene in which he meets Lane's character in a Wal-Mart where Rihanna's "We Found Love" is bumping over the store's speakers. LaBeouf told reporters that on the first day of filming, director Andrea Arnold told him, "Hey, I need you to body roll to Rihanna in front of everybody."

"I didn't like it," LaBeouf noted.

American Honey follows a teenage girl (Lane) who joins a traveling magazine sales crew "and gets caught up in a whirlwind of hard partying, law bending and young love as she criss-crosses the Midwest with a band of misfits." We're here for it.
