The current trend with the X-Men movies has been to set them in the past — First Class was in the 1960s, Days of Future Past in the 70s, and now Apocalypse is in the 80s. And all this time-jumping gives ample opportunity for cool viral marketing.
Case in point: here’s a brilliantly cheesy 80s style advert for Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters, presented by Jubilee herself, in perfectly cartoon-accurate attire. It’s got all the period details on lock, from the VHS fuzz, the cheesy transitions and the terrible fonts. It might just be ultimately a trailer for X-Men Apocalypse, but we still think it's cool.
And yes, that is Stan Lee’s voice at the end.
