This is the sort of American adaptation of anime we actually want to see.

Attack On Titan is pretty much the biggest anime and manga forever, both in Japan and the West (if you’re still sleeping on it, it’s all on Netflix, so go and get up to speed). And with that crossover success, it’s not going to be long until there’s talk of an American adaptation.

Actually, it’s already happening. But wait! This isn’t some horrible Hollywoodization like that Dragon Ball movie. Kōdansha USA, the American arm of the manga company that publishes AOT have announced Attack on Titan Anthology, a 250 hardcover graphic novel featuring short stories and art set in the manga’s universe, from a host of big name American comic book creators. The biggest name on the list is Scott Snyder, current writer of Batman and the man behind the best Bat-stories of the last decade. Other exciting names on the list are Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr, the team responsible for the recent critically acclaimed Batgirl series. There are also plenty more notable Marvel and DC creators on board, including Michael Avon Oeming, Gail Simone, Phil Jimenez, Sam Humphries, Paulo Rivera and Simon Spurrier.

This isn’t the first time Attack On Titan  has ventured into US comics — last year Japanese magazine Brutus published an 8-page crossover with The Avengers.

Here’s some pages from the book, and head over to Comics Alliance where they have a load more exclusive images.
