Ryan Reynolds is just as badass as Deadpool. The dad-to-be/Merc with a Mouth—a role he will reprise for the sequel—donated to a Utah theater facing legal troubles for serving alcohol while showing DeadpoolreportsThe Wrap.

According toThe Wrap, the Salt Lake City, Utah Brewvies Cinema Pub (Get it?) is at risk of losing its liquor license because it screened Reynolds' R-rated box office behemoth. To make matters worse, Brewvies also faces upwards of $25,000 in fines.

The charges? The state claims Brewvies broke Utah's obscenity law which makes it illegal for nudity and sex to be shown wherever alcohol is served. The Wrapreports the law mainly targets strip clubs, forcing dancers to wear nipple pasties and G-strings when alcohol is being served, but says it also applies to films that depict sex and nudity. The Wrap also writes that lawmakers said Brewvies served alcohol: "in the presence of nudity, simulated sex, and included a suggestive scene during the credits that involved a cartoon unicorn."

Reynolds got wind of this and tweeted:

So he joined the fight against the man and donated $5,000 to Brewvies the Associated Pressreports. Brewvies confirmed the donation thanking the Deadpool star.

Brewvies has set up a GoFundMe for legal fees and fines raising almost $17,000 of their $75,000 goal as it prepares to fight the charges in court next month. Brewvies will argue that the state is violating Brewvies first amendment rights and that Deadpool isn't obscene reportsThe Wrap.
