Melissa McCarthy the gawd won the Comedic Genius award a the 2016 MTV Movie Awards and used her time on camera to remind us she does things that are funny. Homegirl crowdsurfed her way to the stage and then battled with Kevin Hart, "accidentally" knocking her Golden Popcorn clear across the stage. She also draaaaged Hart by calling him The Rock's assistant.

When the jokes ceased McCarthy shouted out Lucille Ball, Bette Midler, and Whoopi Goldberg. "I think I am a walking human patchwork of all the remarkable funny women who I loved and studied over the years," she added. McCarthy is the second third person and first woman to win the award after Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart previously snagged the trophy. When MTV announced the honor Wednesday it praised the comedian for "her bold and fearless comedic style that has captured audiences hearts."

Said audience has put her latest film, The Boss, at the top of the box office this weekend, beating out Batman v. Superman and its diminishing returns.
