Yes, it is just like that episode of 'The Simpsons'.

Last year, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard got into a heap of trouble for smuggling their pet dogs into Australia, where Depp was shooting a film. The couple faced a potential prison sentence, because of Australia’s strict agricultural laws, and the dogs themselves were even threatened with euthanasia.

Everything has turned out well for Johnny, Amber, Pistol and Boo in the end though. The charges against Heard have been dropped and places on “a one-month good behaviour bond” after pleading guilty. Following the good news, the couple have released this strange video, solemnly apologising for the actions. Not only do they say that what they did was wrong, Depp also goes out of his way to praise the people of Australia: “Australians are just as unique, both warm and direct. If you disrespect Australian law, they will tell you firmly.” It’s kinda creepy, tbh.

People are comparing it to that episode of ‘The Simpsons’ where Bart goes on trial in Australia.
