HBO thought, hey, here are three great shows. Why not renew them?

HBO is risking it all, renewing three of its biggest (and best) original series. Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, and Veep have all been given the go-ahead for additional critical praise in 2017, the network confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter on Thursday. The three-way vote of confidence, of course, comes just days ahead of each show's respective season premieres.

Game of Thrones, conspiracy theorists be damned, has done a very good job of letting everyone know when exactly to expect its highly speculated return. Between Jon Snow death algorithms and very important genitalia discussions, the show is poised for what may very well be its most crucial season yet. Thrones bosses David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, as reported byEntertainment Weekly last week, are apparently pondering the idea of giving the show a condensed send-off. If Benioff and Weiss' calculations are to be believed, Game of Thrones could be calling it a day by the end of Season 8:

Silicon Valley, now entering its third year of app-centered hilarity, will feature absolutely zero dragons but plenty of magic. As previously confirmed via some truly thorough investigative reporting, T.J. Miller will be popping up (at least once) on a unicorn whilst ridding himself of some cold, hard cash:

Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Veep, the real MVP on HBO's slate, is now tasked with the unique irony of its title character no longer embodying that distinction. Selina Meyer, of course, is now in full POTUS form and has been tasked with protecting that throne in the name of good great television:
