The Emmys will return to ABC this year, which means Jimmy Kimmel landing the hosting gig was all but an inevitability. This morning Kimmel confirmed the news on Twitter and got his "have a great summer" in mad early. (He should have gone with "HAGS" tho.)

I am hosting the #Emmys on Sunday Sept 18. Until then, have a great summer.

Kimmel hosted the Emmys for the first time in 2012, which was also the last time ABC had broadcast rights. Since then Neil Patrick Haris, Seth Meyers, and Andy Samberg have all had their turn. "I am excited to be hosting the Emmys again," Kimmel said in an official, non-tweeted statement. "I have a feeling I’m going to be great."

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey added: "Jimmy Kimmel is the consummate showman. With Kimmel at the helm, expect to be at the edge of your seat for a bigger, bolder, and better-than-ever Emmy event."

The Jimmy Kimmel Live host has become ABC's golden child, so it should come as no surprise that he's once again getting the nod for television's big night. He's pseudo-edgy enough to not make the "bigger, bolder" proclamation entirely BS, but let's not expect anything like Chris Rock at the Oscars

Emmy nominations will be announced on July 14. Until then, have a great spring and summer.
