Though we’re now just three short long days away from the arrival of Daredevil’s second season, Netflix has been generous enough to deliver another tension-packed trailer. There’s a nice helping of new footage here, though Netflix is wise to not give everything away. Also, as previously confirmed, Jon Bernthal is practically a revelation as the soon-to-be-punishing Frank Castle.

"I was a big fan of the first season," Bernthal, a former Walking Dead staple, told Entertainment Weekly back in January. "I love the way the first season attacks the comic world and it did it with authenticity." Adding that he feels "honored" to portray Frank Castle, Bernthal says the process of bringing the iconic character to life involved a lot of "unbelievable anger and hatred and shame." Of course, that does indeed sound like the Punisher we all know and love.

Sadly, those quickly spreading rumors regarding a possible Punisher spin-off starring Bernthal were recently squashed by Marvel bosses. "I think that’s something that people are speculating on, as opposed to something that’s actually happening," Jeph Loeb, Marvel TV’s Executive Vice President, told Digital Spy in February. However, Loeb adds, hope is not entirely lost: "It’s certainly our hope that any of our characters will be embraced and that people want to see more of them." Keep the dream alive, Punisher enthusiasts.

Daredevil's Tumblr-aided second season is set to hit everyone's respective Netflix queues this Friday.
