Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is almost upon us, and it’s make or break time for the DC Cinematic Universe. They’ve got a whole new Batman in Ben Affleck, totally wiping away the previous Christian Bale-starring Dark Knight trilogy.
But it turns out Christian Bale could have actually been in this new version of the DCU. Not as Bruce Wayne, obviously, but director Zack Snyder says he was trying to find a role for Bale in the new film.
Talking to FilmInk, Snyder said:
Maybe we could hire him to play another part. We did talk about that briefly. I just wanted to hire Christian to play another part to make {clear that this was a new series of films}. Christian could play, like, Alfred with age makeup. No! Of course not. But you know what I mean. Even people at the studio would say “who are you getting from the other movies?” And I was like “Hey, come on guys, let’s all understand, it’s a different world”.
No gonna lie, Christain Bale in old man make-up as Alfred would have been pretty dope.
