DC’s Batman v Superman may not have critics raving, but it’s scored the biggest opening worldwide in history with $424 million (including $170 domestically). The film, which is the precursor to the Justice League, reportedly "lighter" fare according to BvS director Zack Snyder, was full of easter eggs that have since been broken down. As audiences try to wrap their heads around the film—a friend told me he was disoriented for the first half of it—Warner Bros. has decided to throw them a curveball by releasing a deleted scene from the film starring Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor and an alien. The scene is raising questions as to the events that will unfold in Justice League.

The scene, coming in at under a minute, will be a part of the director’s cut shown on the Blu-ray edition of BvS, according to Deadline. Titled “Communion” the scene shows a SWAT team storming the place where Luthor is at the time in a pile of goop joined by some dissipating alien.

(Spoiler Alert)

The folks over at Deadline report Luthor is in fact in a Krytponian ship from Man Of Steel. The unidentified alien is believed to be Darkseid, set to be the villain in Justice League film, or one of his cronies from Apokolips, the planet he rules. According to Deadline, Darkseid has been pinned for the big bad in Justice League.

Additionally the clip provides a look at what may be three mother boxes, often compared to the infinity stones in the Marvel universe. Make what you want of the clip and watch it above.
