Back in the 90s and early 00s, weekdays at 6pm on BBC2 was the coolest TV timeslot. It gave us The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Simpsons, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and loads of other cult shows.

Now the BBC has announced that it is bringing back one the most memorable programmes from that era: Robot Wars. For six years, it gave bearded engineering professors the chance to live out their WWE fantasies through the medium of home-made remote control monsters, whilst being shouted by Craig Charles and perving over Philippa Forrester.

The new series with consist of six hour-long episodes, filmed in a ‘bullet-proof’ arena in Glasgow. It will air later in 2016 and there’s no word yet on who the new presenters will be.

We just hope Sir Kill-A-Lot is returning.
