UPDATE (1/14/16): Because nostalgia is a cruel and ruthless monster indeed, this whole Friends "reunion" isn't exactly what anyone had in mind. Matthew Perry couldn't BE any more out of the country right now, as Variety confirms he's currently doing The End of Longing at the Playhouse Theatre.

In the time of our parents and grandparents, including sad souls who never experienced the internet, TV shows started and eventually ended. Thankfully, we don't live in an era that's as horrifically depressing as that tomfoolery, meaning we are often rewarded with stuff like Fuller House and shows that never actually end, i.e. The Simpsons. Those are cool and all, and recent mini-reunions from the brains behind confirmed classics like 30 Rock and Seinfeld were also pretty great, but where's that Friends reunion at, TV gods?
Though fans have been brutally punished for years with fabricated reunion rumors and whatever the hell Cougar Town was, NBC has finally stepped up to secure some proper nostalgia points. At a Television Critics Association event in Pasadena on Wednesday, NBC revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the full Friendscast will reunite as part of a two-hour special honoring the career of James Burrows (Friends, Cheers, Frasier).
"I’m hoping all six will be in the same room at the same time," NBC boss Robert Greenblatt said. "I'm not sure we can logistically pull it off." The special, which airs Feb. 21, celebrates Burrows' recent milestone of shooting his 1,000th episode of television. At time of publication, no one was able to confirm whether or not viewers would achieve a euphoric state of heightened awareness like this guy:
