Weed, according to multiple reports, is fun. The green goodness, perhaps most known for giving Washington and Colorado tens of millions of flexworthy dollars in tax revenue, should also get accolades for being a great thing to put inside of other things. Some people like putting weed inside headstones. Others like to put it inside their fake butts. See? Fun.
But what about carrots?
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials discovered nearly half a million dollars of weed tucked neatly inside a bunch of fake carrots earlier this week, NBC News reports. A tractor-trailer was stopped near the Texas-Mexico border, a stop that eventually resulted in the revelation that approximately 2,800 fake carrots were ingeniously tossed in with a few real ones.
"Once again, drug smuggling organizations have demonstrated their creativity in attempting to smuggle large quantities of narcotics across the U.S.-Mexico border," a Port of Entry official says. "Our officers are always ready to meet those challenges and remain vigilant towards any type of illicit activities." Though categorizing a bunch of weed shoved into some fake carrots as "drug smuggling" is obviously a relatively dumb thing to do, dude's "large quantities" distinction is spot-on. The weed in question, weighing in at just over 2,000 pounds, would have warranted an easy $499,000,000 in places where people sadly can't purchase it legally.
Family dinner idea for this weekend: weed and carrots. Just don't try it down in the Bible Belt.
