If you thought one of those Stormtroopers in Star Wars: The Force Awakens sounded, for lack of a better word, a little too Kevin Smith-y, then hopefully you wagered a very generous sum of money on that theory. In a recent Starwars.com post detailing the full voice cast for The Force Awakens, Smith is listed as the Stormtrooper who so courageously delivers this line:

Stormtrooper (reacts to incoming Resistance fighters): "We have incoming at 28.6! Move!"

Brilliant.

"I just want to thank all the voice actors who contributed to the film, including but not limited to those listed below," Matthew Wood, supervising sound editor, said when making the big reveal. "There are several scenes with layers and layers of voices that we can't credit individually, but they make sequences come alive, and the film would not be the same without them."

Furthermore, confirmed "responsible stoner" Kevin Smith's Star Wars cosign adds further hype behind the theory that the wonderfully complementary worlds of weed and Star Wars will continue to grow closer and closer until, at long last, Chewbacca is hitting a gravity bong in the back of the Millennium Falcon with the previously banished Jar Jar Binks in a half-prequel / half-sequel co-directed by Smith and J.J. Abrams Lars von Trier.

"In the last 7 years, I've been more productive than I was the first 15 years of my career," Smith told Vulture in 2014. "And that's because I love smoking so much. So every time I was smoking I was like, 'I better do something creative,' so it makes more output." The odds seem ever in our favor.
