Ricky Gervais may have said he changed during his opening monologue for the Golden Globes this year but viewers saw that wasn't true as he quickly launched into dragging a laundry list of people. One of those people was Caitlyn Jenner, which Gervais made a joke—which some deemed transphobic—about. Gervais has since responded to people offended by the joke and now Jenner has responded to the joke.

If you skipped out on the awards ceremony (one of many during this very long awards season that will possibly see The Revenant sweep the Oscars) here's Gervais' joke. After that bit about "changing" Gervais used Jenner as a punchline saying he hadn't changed as much as "Bruce Jenner." "What a year she's had!" Gervais said after addressing Jenner as Caitlyn. "She became a role model for trans people everywhere, showing great bravery in breaking down barriers and destroying stereotypes. She didn’t do a lot for women drivers." The genuinely unfunny sexist joke was referencing the fatal car crash Jenner was involved in earlier last year in which one woman died making the joke even more horrible.

Promoting the second season of I Am Cait at the Television Critics Tour in California Jenner kept it equal parts classy and sassy in her response. "I think what I'm going to do is call the Golden Globes & see if they need new host for next year," she said. "And we'll solve that problem."

Gervais hasn't responded to Jenner's jab but he did go on a rant defending his joke. Here's some of his tweets below:

Here's hoping Chris Rock doesn't similarly scrape the bottom of the comedy barrel when he hosts the Oscars next month.
