Police Held up a Train Because They Got a Novelty Umbrella Confused for a Real Samurai Sword

To be fair, it does look like a real sword.

You've probably seen those umbrellas that look like samurai swords, right? Well, earlier today, London police held up a train because they thought one of them was an actual real sword. After the tragic events in Leytonstone over the weekend, security was obviously high. But when Londoner Ray Brown was stopped by police on Monday morning, he tweeted a photo that's ended up going viral.

Complex UK spoke to Ray, who said that he was just going to work as normal when he noticed police coming over to him at Deptford station, after another passenger brought the 'sword' to their attention. They eventually realised that it wasn't a real weapon, and he went on with his journey as usual. Ray also said that the cops were very professional and perfectly understanding once they figured out the confusion. He added that he'd had the umbrella for ages, and never had any trouble with it before.

Here's Ray when he's not wielding an umbrella.
