People really want Idris Elba to be the next James Bond and who can blame them? Most women would flock to the theater just to see Elba in a sleek suit (or without any clothes for that matter), but the star has other movie plans.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Elba was asked about whether or not this would be the final chapter for detective James Luther, his character on the BBC television series Luther. "Nah, nah," he says. "I would like to make it into a movie."

The Luther star loves the show so much that he's creating an album inspired by his character titled Murdah Loves John. While speaking toThe Guardian, Elba even compares his song to a Bond tune, "I'm just saying Murder Loves John has the same gravitas as any Bond song."

Even Elba knows that Luther isn't as charismatic as Bond, and that's okay. "Bond's great, but Luther? A new Luther tune every time? He might not be suave with, y'know, 'Rah, rah, rah, I'll have a fancy car.' He'll drive a Volvo and still get there."

"That's reinvention. Come on, man, this is art, man; we've all had a paintbrush, we all can't paint the same landscape," Elba continued. While we may not see Elba play the suave James Bond anytime soon, the actor reveals that he would be down to create a Bond theme song. "I'm all for that."

The song will release on 7Wallace on the same day the show returns to BBC 1 on Tuesday, December 15.
