According to E! Online, Bradley Cooper says the news of Beyoncé signing on for the project is "just a rumor." Speaking with E! at last night's premiere of Joy, he added, "But with that said, I would be honored obviously with to work with her in any capacity."

Bradley Cooper'sacting career has suffered some pitfalls lately. For some reason, after the abysmal Aloha and the failed culinary drama Burnt, Cooper decided it would be a great idea if he appeared in a reoccurring TV show spinoff of Limitless. Perhaps to counteract his recent struggle projects, Cooper has signed Beyoncé on for his remake of the 1937 classic A Star Is Born. The project will be Cooper's directorial debut and, according to Page Six, "Beyoncé is a go."
Lately rumors have been swirling that the singer is taking acting classes—something even superstar pop queens do when they're prepping for movie roles, I guess. Beyoncé was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Dreamgirls, but Us Weekly reports that she's looking for less of a musical part and more of an "iconic dramatic role" in "a film that's socially relevant to African American rights." Perhaps Cooper's film fits the bill.
A Star Is Born premiered in 1937, was remade in 1954 with Judy Garland and James Mason, and was remade again in 1976 with Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Streisand. It tells the story of a small-town aspiring actress (who we can only assume will be played by Beyoncé) who moves to Hollywood where she meets an aging starlet who helps launch her career. Apparently Cooper has yet to cast the rest of the film, but now he's got Queen Bey, we're guessing he won't have much trouble finding actors to fill the roles around her.
