Tesco Called Out For Not Letting In ‘Regular’ Shoppers For Black Friday

Tesco's catching heat for turning away 'normal shoppers' during today's Black Friday sales

I think we can all agree the moment they brought the Black Friday sales to our dainty shores of the United Kingdom the levels of ratchetness would reach peak velocity. But what about those normal folk who aren't interested in a cheap HDTV, who just want to do their grocery shopping? Well as it turns out, their patronage isn’t wanted during the sales-fest according to one disgruntled shopper who got turned away from Tesco’s today.

According to one shopper, Chris Brown (not the singer BTW), he was turned away for “not wanting to buy a TV today” from the Tesco store in Edinburgh. Suffice to say Mr Brown was not impressed and took to twitter to express his anger:

Tell 'em how you really feel Chris

However he wasn’t the only normal shopper with a bone to pick with the giant supermarket chain:

Don't worry Chris, Sam feels your pain still...

In statement to The Independent a spokesperson for Tesco said:

"Our Black Friday event was incredibly popular last year so to ensure colleagues have enough time to set up for the event this year, we will be closing all participating stores at 12am and reopening them at 5am,”

During Black Friday sales last year, things got so out of hand police forces were called to stores across the United Kingdom to deal with crowd control issues, assaults, threatening customers and traffic issues. Proof that it’s not only hypebeasts who are willing thrown away their dignity all in the name of consumerism.
