Following the success of Telltale’s Game Of Thrones series it has been announced that it will be renewed for a second season.

Whilst an actual date hasn't been set the confirmation comes days after they released the sixth (and final) episode of the series one, The Ice Dragon. We won’t put any spoilers for you – because were nice people – but we will say that the ending certainly left things open for a second season. Telltale’s interactive video game series is set in the world of the hit HBO/Sky Atlantic TV series, Game Of Thrones (duh), and follows the story of House Forrester who have sworn their allegiance to Westeros’ most unlucky family, House Stark. You can pretty much picture how that will turn out for them.

Speaking in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter Telltale’s CEO Kevin Bruner confirmed that the second series is already in development and went on to say:

"The questions left on the table at the conclusion of season one, who survived and who didn't, as well as all the other choices you made play a huge role in the second season... Things rarely go well in the Game of Thrones universe, and there is always a price to be paid for playing. Indeed the Forresters did have a very rough time in season one, but there is a larger story to be played out. What may seem like small victories after the downfall of Ironrath are important ones. The choices players make in season one set the stage for what's to come."

Telltale has been praised in recent years for their alternative style of creating video games, which focuses more on interactive storytelling. Along with GoT they’ve developed games based on The Walking Dead, Borderlands and Back To The Future. They’re also currently developing a game based on the Marvel Universe.

All six episodes of the first series of Game Of Thrones are available right now on Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, OS X, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
