When beauty happens, it’s our duty as human beings on the planet Earth to immediately recognize and champion it for the unfettered joy it so generously provides. Massachusetts is clearly in the mood for turning all the way up, kicking off an exciting new trend by allowing this admirably devotedPastafarian to wear a spaghetti strainer on her head for her license photo:

Pastafarianism, a.k.a. the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, is a totally real and definitely not satirical form of religion aimed at bettering the planet through first acknowledging the fact that global warming can be easily traced to the declining number of pirates currently roaming the seas. Obviously.

In a statement released to the American Humanist Associationover the weekend, Lowell resident Lindsay Miller said that her ability to rock a strainer allows her to express her own beliefs, just as any other religion would:

As a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, I feel delighted that my Pastafarianism has been respected by the Massachusetts RMV. While I don't think the government can involve itself in matters of religion, I do hope this decision encourages my fellow Pastafarian Atheists to come out and express themselves as I have.

A spokesperson from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles confirmed to FOX 35 that head coverings are generally not allowed for license photos, though exceptions are routinely made for various religious reasons.
