This 100-Year-Old Woman Can't Stop and Won't Stop Working 6 Days a Week

“Too many old people are retiring too young."

While some most people count the days until they can retire at 65, 100-year-old Felimina Rotundo has been an active member of the workforce for 85 years and has no intention of stopping anytime soon. She spends 11 hours a day, six days a week at the College Laundry Shoppe in Buffalo, N.Y.

Timereports that she washes clothes and takes care of dry cleaning from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the laundromat and absolutely loves it. “I talk to people all day; I do a few bundles. It’s being out,” she told local news station WGRZ. “Getting up in the morning and you say ‘I have to go to work,’ it does something for you.”

Rotundo was born in 1915 and grew up during the Great Depression, landing her first job at age 15. Having worked for longer than most people are even alive, she maintains the belief that senior citizens should remain active. “Too many old people are retiring too young,” she said. “I don’t think people should be sitting idle, doing nothing. That’s a waste of time.”

Well, Sophia Petrillo would agree with you.
