It's strangely beautiful.

Plenty of people make sacrifices for their art, but this guy takes that concept to another level. Thanks to his bravery, we now know what it looks like when a taser hits bare skin at exactly 28,000 frames per second (FPS). The Slow Mo Guys, a.k.a. Gavin Free and Dan Gruchy specialize in—you guessed it—capturing video in slow motion, and they've designed an entire video around tasers and the impact of said tasers on human flesh.

The video begins with a simple slow-mo shot of a taser being fired into an inanimate target, but the stakes are quickly raised when a brave volunteer (Dan) is dragged in front of the camera and stripped to the waist. Standing between two additional men to support/restrain him, Dan crumples when the taser's barbs hit his back. The video continues for an additional four minutes, showing the taser's impact at super-slow speed from every conceivable angle. When set to ambient music, the effect is strangely soothing.

Let's hear it for Dan, his sleek wrap-around shades, and his willingness to put his body on the line in the name of farcical entertainment.
