Tom Hardy Expertly Shuts Down Reporter for Asking Inane Question About His Sexuality

There definitely is such a thing as a stupid question and this guy decided to prove it by asking Tom Hardy one of them.

Before we begin, we must take this moment to pay tribute to the fact that Tom Hardy rarely (if ever) suffers a fool just for the sake of an inconsequential press junket. If Hardy's dedication to joining and remaining in the ranks of cinema's equally not-prone-to-suffering-fools elite (an intimidating though consistently unfuckwithable group unofficially led by one Joaquin Phoenix) wasn't quite clear for you, then the exchange beginning around the 28:00 mark in the video above should seal the proverbial deal.

Currently promoting Legend at the Toronto International Film Festival, Hardy decided to make a beautiful example out of a befuddled but admittedly pushy reporter after being asked a low-key ludicrous question regarding his own sexuality:

Reporter: In the film, your character [Ronald Kray] is very open about his sexuality. But given interviews you've done in the past, your own sexuality seems a bit more ambiguous."

Though this reporter's intentions might have been genuine, even a cursory googling of Hardy's aversion to such discussions should have been enough to roundly discourage this type of questioning. If Hardy could have his way, film festivals would center on discussions of film and the art therein, not the sexuality of actors, writers, directors, et al.
