After going on a witch hunt against Nike’s gay pride collection and gay emojis, which the Russian government claimed was detrimental to kids’ health, Russia’s latest censorship coup has banned Pornhub and 10 other porn websites leaving users flaccid. The country’s media watchdog Roskomnadzor announced on Tuesday that the sites violated federal law on illegal pornography under article 242 of Russia’s criminal code: “the illegal manufacture, distribution and public display of pornography."
The ruling from a court in the Krasnodar region comes (no pun intended) after 136 other porn sites were blocked by Roskomnadzor in April.
