As the general American attitude toward the people of Iran unfortunately continues to favor strict animosity over any actual attempt at a person-to-person moment of relation, President Barack Obama has stepped in to set the proper example. Brandon Stanton, the photographer behind the widely recognized photo series Humans of New York, is currently documenting the everyday people of Iran via a standalone series of deeply humanizing portraits:

On Thursday, Stanton's photo of a father and son duo captioned with a moving quote about youth-led humanitarianism received a personal Obama cosign:

This is no doubt a conscious move from the Obama administration to further humanize the people of Iran to portions of the American people who might otherwise ignore or unfairly demonize them, a habit inspired by decades of such treatment under previous administrations. Though a Facebook comment is a seemingly insignificant move to some, the core of what Obama is saying here is actually quite profound.

Save us all some apricots too.
