Hollywood has an almost criminal record of pairing older men with women who are way younger than them... which is why it's so refreshing to see Monica Bellucci as the newest Bond lady. Bellucci, who is 50 years old, will be the oldest woman to step into those shoes, playing Lucia Sciarra in the upcoming 007 film Spectre (out Nov. 6). In the last Bond films Daniel Craig (now 47) had been cast opposite women in their 20s and 30s. Finally, he's up against someone his own age.

In a new interview with The Guardian Bellucci commented on this, saying, "I can't say I'm a Bond girl because I'm too mature to be a Bond girl. I say Bond lady; Bond woman." Yeah, girl! I mean, err, woman. She also gives props to director Sam Mendes for casting her in a role rare for middle-aged women in film, saying he "created a big revolution." Hopefully this means we'll see more badass roles for women over the age of, say, 30 without relegating them to Tired Mom or Spinster type roles.

But the actual best part of the interview? When she says this: "Bond is the most amazing man. You know why? ...Because he doesn't exist." OH SHIIIIT. MONICA YOU QUEEN. Prayer hand emojis.
