Protestors gathered outside West End nightclub DSTRKT on Tuesday evening to demonstrate against the venue's reported discriminatory door policy.

The crowd gathered outside the club after the venue refused entry to two black female members of a group of friends last weekend.

26-year-old actress Zalika Miller from north London was a member of the group that was denied entry. Despite being told they were on the guest list with a table, Miller said the group was refused by promoters on the basis they were "too dark" and "too fat".

Speaking to the Voice, Miller said:

"Prior to us actually getting to the club, the [promoter] wanted pictures of the girls that my friend was going to bring. He basically said, if she was going to bring black girls then they’ve got to be of 'a certain calibre'. She sent him pictures of me and another girl that was coming and I guess he gave his approval."

Shortly after being refused entry, the group watched in disbelief as a different group of girls walked straight into the club after them.

Protestors were heard chanting "beauty has no colour" outside DSTRKT.

The protest was reportedly led by the same group of women who were denied entry on Saturday night.

When I promoted at @dstrktlondon I got told not to bring "fat" or "certain types" of girls, I never went back, no to #DSTRKT

One of the group, Lin, told Newsbeat she was "disgusted at the behaviour". Following the incident more women have come forward with stories of similar experiences.

A former promoter for the club shared his experience of working there.

A Westminster City Council spokesperson said: “We are concerned to hear allegations of racist behaviour at any nightclubs within Westminster.

Since the allegations were made, grime's very own Stormzy has tweeted his past experiences with racist door policy and shown solidarity with the protestors.
