People visiting the Tubalita beach in Spain’s Costa del Sol got an eyeful this weekend when they saw drug smugglers unloading drugs in the middle of the day for all to see.

The shameless smugglers were caught on camera at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday unloading the 2,000 kilos of cannabis resin a.k.a hash worth an estimated 9 million dollars from a boat to a van on the beach.  The cargo was so heavy that one of the men can be seen dropping two bags of it in the video on his way to the van.

Despite being shocked, and most likely appalled, by the scene, onlookers didn’t call police, but did choose to post the video on social media. This is the second time in three months where smugglers are filmed transporting drugs. The other time smugglers were seen unloading 1,500 kilos of cannabis resin from a speedboat in Gibraltar.

One of Spain’s national police forces, the Civil Guard (responsible for rural areas, ports and highways), released a statement via a spokesman about the incident, “We are concerned to make sure that these incidents, while they are happening more and more frequently, are kept in the news. Time and time again we will criticise [sic] the lack of Civil Guard officers, the lack of material means, appropriate vehicles for each work station tailored to the characteristics of the area they are being used, as well as demanding greater security in officers' everyday work.”
