Though an undeniable innovator and the foremost force in the race toward a sleeker future, Steve Jobs was a fascinatingly complex figure of modern genius. Those complexities were well-charted in Walter Isaacson's wildly popular biography Steve Jobs — serving as the starting point for Aaron Sorkin's incisive script for the forthcoming Jobs biopic of the same name.

The first proper trailer (see above) exhibits Sorkin's distinctive touch through Michael Fassbender's sure-to-be iconic portrayal of the lord of Apple. Surely taking its cues from the tone of Isaacson's biography, Sorkin is clearly taking care to craft a multidimensional story of both the global and personal consequences of a person's relentless pursuit of expectations-shattering creativity.

Steve Jobs, directed by Danny Boyle, opens October 9.
