There's Probably Going to Be a London Underground Strike on Wednesday and Thursday

Expect Uber surge charging to go off the charts.

Heads up: it’s highly likely that there won’t be any London Underground trains running on Wednesday and Thursday. A tube strike has been called by unions, and looks pretty certain to happen, with trains stopping on late Wednesday afternoon and resuming Friday morning.

The industrial action is being taken over the introduction of the all-night service at weekends, causing an increase in night shifts, and also over the annual pay package offered to tube workers. There's four different tube unions, and unlike most strikes, they are all planning to take action—so this one is likely to be worse than usual.

These things can get called off at the last minute, so we’ll keep things updated if anything changes. But you might want to get an Uber instead.
