Since the premiere of True Detective's second season, the act of dragging Vince Vaughn's performance through the Twitter trenches has become an increasingly popular pastime. Though I would argue such dragging isn't entirely warranted, others would seem to vehemently disagree:

“Can we just talk for thirty seconds about True Detective? Vince Vaughn is SO distracting. It’s like… What? I’m always thinking, Get out of there!”

Joining the chorus of detractors as of a few days ago is Comedy Central's reigning champion Amy Schumer — with a few off-the-cuff remarks in a recent interview with The Daily Beast:

When asked about the assortment of scenes involving Vaughn and indisputable geniusColin Farrell exchanging barbed wire glances from the (dis)comforts of that unsettlingly empty bar, Schumer points to further distractions. "It’s like, 'Are you guys going to fuck?' It’s so weird!” Schumer says. “I’m still undecided on the show, but I’ll probably watch the whole season.”

Slightly less-than-subtle shade aside, True Detective and Schumer's own Inside Amy Schumer actually have much in common — both challenging their respective audiences to accept and eventually embrace a very different kind of television. These mutual intentions can only mean one thing:

True Detective, Season Three.
