Tina Fey and Amy Schumer shared a kiss on-stage at the 74th Annual Peabody Awards Ceremony last night. Fey was presenting an award to Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer and singing Schumer's praises.

"Amy is killing it, as the agents like to say," said Fey. "Usually they are lying. But in this case, it is true. Amy is killing it. She is the biggest deal in comedy right now."

Fey explained how she came up with the kiss idea. "I really wanted to come down here tonight, and in a Madonna kind of way, try to feed off of [Schumer's] youth and maybe suck her soul out in a very awkward, staged lesbian kiss," she said. "But when I pitched that idea to Amy's camp, they came back with such an immediate yes, that it kind of grossed me out."

So instead, they just went with a totally staged lesbian kiss—jury's still out about whether it was awkward or not, but Fey did try to high-five Schumer afterwards. These ladies are professionals.

Later on, Saturday Night Live cast member Cecily Strong tried to make similar moves on Sarah Koenig while introducing her. "I just want to say, it's no pressure, but if you want to kiss, we can, because it's the Peabodys," Strong said. "It's just that kind of night."
