Remember the days when you had to blow on Nintendo cartridges to get them to work? Things were so simple. Now Playstation 4 and Xbox One have massive operating systems you have to go through before playing anything.
Now it looks like consoles could be melding with other tech even more. Major Japanese newspapers Nikkei is reporting a rumour that Nintendo’s new machine would be based around an Android operating systems. Does that mean you’ll be able to download apps and have Instagram and WhatsApp running on it? If it’s true, it’s most likely just going to based on Android, so that developers will be working on a platform they are already experienced with. But it’s still an interesting development, especially with Nintendo announcing they are moving into smartphone gaming.
