There's bad news for fans of movies with very limited color palettes. The third film in the Tron franchise isn't happening after all, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Disney has reportedly pulled the plug on Tron 3 even after beginning pre-production in Canada, and even after earlier reports that actors Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund had signed on for a sequel to be directed by Joseph Kosinski.
The original Tron was a cult classic in the '80s and Disney capitalized on that by reigniting the franchise with a sequel, Tron: Legacy, 28 years later. That film made over $400 million and had a big hit soundtrack by Daft Punk, so a sequel seemed like a no-brainer.
The reason behind Disney's sudden change of heart has not been revealed.
